Ardnamurchan AD/02.22 Cask Strength Peated (58.7%)

The Ardnamurchan AD/02.22 is the first official Cask Strength bottling. Of the 50 barrels used, 40 were former bourbon barrels filled with the peated variant of Ardnamurchan, 5 bourbon hogsheads and 5 sherry hogsheads with the un-peated variant. This has resulted in a wonderfully warm, but also sweet and at the same time salty whisky.

TASTING NOTES
Color: light orange gold
Nose: Apples and pears turn into tempting caramel and butterscotch, ginger, speculoos spices and almond pie.
Taste: sea salt in combination with tobacco leaves, permanent peat smoke and soft pepper. All this with a sweet undertone, which combines wonderfully with the spicier influences.
Aftertaste: wonderfully warming where the soft peat ultimately has the last word.
