Beek Cognac Giboin 2010 - Borderies (45,9%)

A firm and intense artisanal cognac by Giboin from the Borderies aged 9 years. After half a year in Pineaux de Charentes barrels, it matured for 6 years in French oak, in the last 2,5 years it was very slowly diluted to almost 46% in a large assembly barrel. The aroma is spicy with hints of sultanas and currants, notes of oak and some fruitiness. The taste is firm after a few minutes, without sharpness: we taste sultanas, leather and tobacco, pepper, oak, something vanilla and ripe tropical fruit. The finish is long and intense, wood and fruit with hints of coffee and leather.
