And while we're on the subject of traditions, it might be good to know that Douglas Laing traditionally bottles its whiskies as naturally as possible: the whisky is not cold filtered. This ensures that all the flavour is retained when the whisky is bottled. Also, the whisky is not coloured.
To make this Fèis ìle Edition extra spicy, it is also bottled at its natural 'cask strength'. No less than 54.2%! Standing with this delicious malt in your glass, it is of course no shame to put a drop of water in it.
