Château Montifaud VSOP Elliptique (40%)

This is a delightful VSOP Cognac, named Elliptique (possibly for the shape of the bottle when viewed from above).
This Cognac is created with grapes grown on Montifaud’s vineyard, which is situated in prime location for the cultivation of grapes for Cognac. The flat land allows the plants to receive plenty of sunlight, whilst the chalky soil produces fruit with the ideal levels of acidity for creating Cognac.
This VSOP has been aged for at least 4 years in French Oak casks, in the depths of Montifaud’s cellars – a cool and dry environment perfect for the slow aging of spirit. This said, Montifaud are well known for aging their spirit beyond that stipulated by the grade, meaning that we can quite confidently say this Cognac is a little older than 4 years.
Drinkers should expect exceptional balance between the spirit and the cask, with delightful fruity flavours of tinned peaches, white grape, and red berries, alongside oaky notes of vanilla, toffee, spice and pressed flowers.
