D.S. Tayman Blair Athol 12yo Syrah Wine Barrel Finish (46%)

Distilled at Blair Athol in November 2009, this single malt matured in a virgin oak hogshead, before finishing in an ex-syrah (shiraz) wine cask! In January 2022, the cask was opened by independent bottler DS Tayman, releasing a total of 388 bottles.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Sweet layers of summer berries and citrus, with hearty oak beneath.
Palate: Oily malt and more tangy red fruits, chocolate raisins, with old leather in the distance.
Finish: Baking spice warmth gathers, alongside stewed berries and hearty oak, with burnt biscuits and caramel keeping things sweet.
