Glen Elgin is one of the most famous Diageo distilleries in the Speyside region. The distillery dates back to 1898 and, with a maximum production capacity of 2.7 million litres of pure alcohol per year, is not a giant. Like its also famous relatives Cragganmore and Cardhu from this region, there are worldwide single malt versions on the market and Glen Elgin is one of the whiskies in Diageo's Classic Malt Series. The bottlings are known as true Speyside whisky, distinctive and elegant. Independent bottlings do not often appear on the market.
