Lagavulin 10 years old is a Travel Exclusive edition of this beautiful Islay distillery. For many, Lagavulin whisky is the embodiment of real Islay whisky and this expression also holds the honor high. Lagavulin 10 matures in a combination of refill, bourbon and freshly charred American oak barrels. The ex-bourbon casks provide this whisky with layers of sweetness, to which the freshly charred casks add spicy hints and notes of wood. Of course, smoke and peat cannot be left behind in a whisky of this brand. The use of different cask types gives Lagavulin 10 years of depth and structure, making this a particularly interesting expression. Peat, honey, herbs and both maritime and mineral notes in the nose. In the mouth, smoke comes together with fruit, sweets, honey and spices. A medium-long finish with smoke and salty layers.
