MOST POPULAR PEAR
Williams-Christ is definitely one of the most popular types of pear, and not just when it comes to consumption, but also when it comes to distilling schnapps. Their incomparable taste can be clearly distinguished from other varieties even for inexperienced schnapps connoisseurs. Coupled with a fine wooden barrel note, a very special specialty arises: the old Williams Christ pear.
GOLDEN YELLOW FRUITS WITH AN INTENSE FRAGRANCE
Only the best quality sun-drenched fruit that has matured in the climate of our fruit growers' gardens is used to make the fine Williams distillate. The harvest usually begins in August and September. At the orchard, we check the ripeness of the freshly delivered fruit. The white flesh should be tender, but not floury. Cored and de-stemmed, we mash the pears and let the whole ferment.
The flair or rather the fine nose for the right timing of the individual processing steps is very important for the Williams pear. Even small mistakes have an impact on the later taste result. The burning process therefore also requires special skill and a lot of experience. Gentle, in the raw and fine branding process, our distillers ensure that the fine, multi-layered aromas of the fruit are completely transferred to the distillate - the starting product of our old Willi.
THE WILLIAMS SCHNAPPS FROM THE WOODEN BARREL SOFT AND SPICEY WITH A BARREL CHARACTER
After being stored in the earthenware, the fine schnapps goes into the wooden barrel for several months, whereby the type of wood used is decisive for the taste. This is the only way to give the old Williams Christ pear the typical barrel character without overlaying the fruit's own aromas. And you can already find them in the nose - complex, intense and characteristic. The impressions continue on the palate and in the finish. The full-bodied, yet soft taste of the fruit paired with a subtle sweetness and the pleasant tart and spicy notes. A real pleasure experience!
Our drinking recommendation: Enjoy the old Williams Christ pear as a digestif, in between, alone or in a relaxed atmosphere - just as you like it. In the schnapps goblet with stem at a temperature between 17 and 21 ° C, the fruit's own aromas develop particularly well.
