Ultimatum Rum Glenlossie Sherry Hogshead Bélize 7YO (43,3%)

Ultimatum, a rum bottling company run by the same folk who do van Wees and the Ultimate Whisky Co., have made a habit of producing these interesting, Scotch-cask finished rums!

This is another fascinating release in this series. For this bottling, Ultimatum have finished this dram in a sherry hogshead that held spirit from Speyside distillery, Glenlossie, for three years, after four years of initial maturation. The sherry hogshead was originally used by van Wees to mature a Glenlossie single malt for their Ultimate Whisky Co bottlings.

The result is a captivating Belizean rum, that offers up notes of dried fruits, banana, chocolate, toffee, dark oak, leather, malty biscuits, nuts, citrus rind, coconut, apricot, plums and vanilla.

Bottled at 43.3% ABV for a little more warmth, this is a superbly crafted rum with a unique flavour profile.
