This sumptuous and decadent whisky has been twice matured- firstly in an ex-bourbon hogshead followed by a generous finishing period soaking in first fill Pedro Ximenez sherry cask. This beautifully balanced un-peated spirit from Fettercairn distillery has been bottled at cask strength. As always, our single malt is proudly offered to you free from colouring or chill-filtration. Each one of our lovely bottles are individually filled and labelled by hand. These rare bottles are highly collectable but we think are best enjoyed with your feet up, glass in hand and a good record spinning.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich and thick toffee climbs out of the glass followed by dark chocolate aromas and a more delicate toasted hazelnut. A soft vanilla in a leather jacket skulks about in the back.
Palate: Dates, toffee and nuttiness accompany an initial spice which is followed by a bitter dark chocolate. Dried figs emerge alongside glace ginger.
Finish: A long and unctuous butterscotch coat the mouth mingling with the chocolate a long long time after the spirit is gone. Delicate spices emerge as the sweetness eventually fades with hints of nutmeg, cinnamon and new(ish) leather.
