Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers' Aberargie Distillery Inaugural Release is the first single malt Scotch whisky from the new farmhouse distillery on the border between the Highlands and Lowlands. Distilled from 100% estate-grown barley (Golden Promise & Laureate) and matured in first-fill bourbon and sherry casks, this 48.2% ABV, natural color, and non-chill-filtered bottling impresses with its structure, fruitiness, and artisanal precision.

The first bottling from the Aberargie Distillery marks the beginning of a new chapter in Scotch whisky history. Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers presents the first single malt from a distillery dedicated solely to a single estate: from barley cultivation on their own 120-hectare farm to the final bottling, every step of the production process is carried out entirely in-house.
The distillery is geographically situated on the fascinating border between the Highlands and the Lowlands—a location stylistically reflected in the whisky's balance and clarity. In November 2017, the first new-make spirit flowed from the stills. More than eight years of maturation were required before Brian and Jamie Morrison, together with their team, decided: the quality worthy of the Morrison name has now been achieved.
This first bottling uses barley from their own fields – 52% Golden Promise and 48% Laureate – two varieties known for their aromatic depth and clear structure. Maturation in a combination of first-fill bourbon and sherry casks creates a harmonious house style with fruit, malt, and subtle spice.
Bottled at 48.2% ABV, naturally unchill-filtered, and with no added colorants, this first release embodies transparency, provenance, and meticulous craftsmanship. Aberargie also makes a visual statement: the distinctive bottle with its embossed details, unique glass shape, and leather neck label reflects the distillery's agricultural DNA and independent spirit.
