The Old Perth 21 Year Old is a rare and remarkable whisky with a fascinating backstory. In 2015, by pure chance, two outstanding malt whiskies were brought together — one from Macallan, the other from Highland Park. At the time, the Highland Park component was around 10–11 years old, while the Macallan whisky was considerably older. This serendipitous combination was then transferred into Oloroso sherry butts for further maturation and development.

After several additional years resting in these rich sherry casks, the result is a whisky of exceptional balance, depth, and character. Only 900 bottles have been released worldwide, making this a true collector’s item and a treat for connoisseurs of complex, sherried malts.

The nose reveals deep aromas of dried fruits, raisins, caramel, and warm baking spices, lifted by a gentle touch of smoke. On the palate, layers of ripe sherry fruits, toffee, spiced oak, and dark chocolate unfold, leading to a long, smooth, and elegant finish with lingering notes of sweetness, spice, and subtle smoke.

Bottled at 43.6% ABV, with natural colour and no chill filtration, this whisky retains its full-bodied, authentic character — exactly as intended by its makers.
