The Angostura 1919 is a classic rum from Trinidad, produced by Trinidad Distillers Limited and released under the Angostura brand.
Its name refers to a historical event in 1932, when casks from 1919 were rediscovered after a warehouse fire, inspiring the style of this rum.
Angostura 1919 is a blend of rums aged for several years in oak casks, produced using column still distillation. This results in a smooth and approachable profile with a clear oak influence.
The nose shows vanilla, caramel and light honey. On the palate it is round and smooth, with toffee, cocoa and gentle spice supported by subtle oak.
The finish is medium in length with lingering caramel and soft spice.
