The Appleton Estate 21 Year Old is one of the most mature rums in the range of Appleton Estate, clearly demonstrating the impact of extended tropical ageing.
Appleton uses a minimum age statement, meaning all rums in this blend have been aged for at least 21 years. This release is composed from a selection of casks, focusing on balance and consistency.
After long maturation, it develops a rich and layered profile where fruit, oak and spice come together without becoming overly heavy.
The nose reveals dried fruit, raisins and oak, with hints of citrus and spice. The palate is full and rounded, showing molasses, cocoa, burnt sugar and gentle spice, followed by subtle fruit towards the finish.
The finish is long and layered, balancing oak, sweetness and spice.
