Ardnamurchan Sauternes Cask Release Peated (50%)

This limited edition from Ardnamurchan Distillery beautifully combines peat smoke with the luxurious sweetness of Sauternes wine casks. Crafted on Scotland’s wild west coast, it captures Ardnamurchan’s signature coastal character, layered with warmth and complexity.

The whisky first matured in ex-Bourbon barrels for three years before being transferred into Sauternes barriques for another three and a half years of finishing. The result is a vibrant and balanced single malt that brings together smoky depth, orchard fruit brightness, and gentle sweetness. Only 8,460 bottles were released worldwide.

On the nose, bright aromas of citrus zest, shortbread, pineapple, and honey mingle with a soft earthy smoke. The palate opens with spiced ginger, sweet vanilla, and toasted nuts, followed by notes of smoked honey, tropical fruit, and gentle oak. The finish is long and lively, with a playful balance of sweetness, spice, and smoke.

Bottled at 50% ABV, with natural colour and no chill filtration, this whisky showcases Ardnamurchan’s commitment to integrity and flavour.
