Sir Joseph Banks’s thirst for knowledge and love of exploration serves as the inspiration for Banks Rums. Multi-origin blending provides complexity, character and consistent flavor to Banks Rums. Banks style of Rum making today draws from methods employed in the eighteenth century.
Each of the origins selected are blended from Banks’s rare stocks of Rum from Trinidad, Jamaica, Guyana, Barbados, Java, Guatemala and Panama.
“When East meets West” best summarizes the Banks blending philosophy.
Tasting Notes:
Somewhat funky, vegetal nose that also features citrus and a dollop of earthiness. Crisp in the mouth, with some vegetal flavors, licorice, spice (including pepper) and also a touch of sweetness. A long, lingering spice finish—some of the vegetal greeness comes back intertwined with the molasses. A lot going on.
