With the 1888, Brugal demonstrates how double maturation can add depth and refinement while maintaining an approachable profile. This Dominican rum is first aged in ex-bourbon casks, followed by a second maturation in ex-sherry casks.

This combination creates a layered character where soft sweetness and drier oak influence come together. On the nose, notes of vanilla, caramel and dried fruit appear, supported by light chocolate and subtle spice.

On the palate, the rum is smooth and rounded, offering toffee, raisins and cocoa, with an elegant oak structure. The sherry casks add depth without making it heavy. The finish is medium to long, slightly dry and refined, with lingering oak and gentle spice.
