Calalenta Merlot Rosata Fantini (13,5%)

Calalenta Rosé is made from 100% Merlot. The vineyards here are in an excellent location in the Sud Abruzzo area, low pruned and planted on steep hills at an altitude of up to 250 metres above sea level, making for a wine with an excellent balance of aromas and acidity. The grapes are hand-picked at night and cooled to -1° C and pressed immediately after harvest. The first pressing is fermented for 20 days at a temperature of no more than 10° C in a stainless steel tank. After a light and rapid ageing on lees of 30 days in stainless steel, the wine is gently refined, filtered and bottled immediately.

Tasting note:
Calalenta Rosé is the Italian alternative to a “Provence style rosé”. The colour is very light pink, fresh aromas in the nose of strawberry, fresh-cut watermelon and rose petals. On the palate deliciously refreshing with notes of fresh fruit, flowers with soft lovely mineral notes, followed by a long finish with fresh acidity combined with fresh fruit.
