For Bottled Realities Series No. 4, Club Qing selected a remarkable cask from Linkwood Distillery: a 15-year-old single malt distilled in 2010 and fully matured in a Virgin Oak Hogshead (cask #302986). Bottled at natural cask strength of 53.4%, this is a true single cask release, limited to just 242 bottles worldwide.

In the glass, this Linkwood immediately presents itself as rich and inviting. The nose opens with creamy vanilla and fresh oak, followed by notes of honey, ripe pear, and a touch of candied citrus. Subtle spices such as cinnamon and clove add depth and hint at the complexity to come.

On the palate, it is full-bodied and intense, yet beautifully balanced. Sweet layers of caramel and butterscotch intertwine with stewed apples and gentle spice. The Virgin Oak maturation brings a pronounced yet elegant oak influence, adding structure, light peppery accents, and warm spice without overshadowing Linkwood’s naturally fruity character.

The finish is long and warming, with lingering spices, soft tannins, and a sweet echo of vanilla and honey.
