Matured in a vintage 1981 PX cask. Not a prepared cask, but a genuine old PX cask straight from Spain. Started on Terschelling with no less than 7 months at sea aboard the Tall Ship Thalassa. "Dynamic Aged" all the way to Panama and finally ended up and bottled back on Terschelling. Nearly 25 liters evaporated in the tropics. An enormously powerful PX flavor remains.
TASTE NOTES:
Aroma: Dark raisins, molasses, dried fruit (plum, fig), nutmeg, cocoa, old wooden chest, balsamic.
Flavor: Ripe banana, black cherry, syrup – maple syrup, spices (clove, pepper), dark chocolate, tobacco, leather, subtle sea breeze.
Finish: warm spices, dry tannins (from the barrel), dried plum, slightly drying.
