Destileria Sofa 8yo Single Estate Rum - Cane Island (43%)

This rum from Venezuela originates from Destilería Sofa, a distillery located in the northeastern part of the country. It is bottled by the independent bottler Cane Island, a brand focused on presenting rums that reflect their regional character.

The rum was distilled using a column still and matured for eight years in American white oak casks. This ageing contributes to the well-known Venezuelan style: smooth, rounded and gently influenced by oak, with a warm sweetness and an approachable profile.

In the glass it shows a deep amber colour. The aroma reveals notes of caramel and vanilla, supported by lightly toasted oak and hints of dried fruit. Subtle touches of cocoa and mild spices add extra depth.

On the palate the rum is soft and rounded, offering flavours of toffee, brown sugar and delicate wood notes. The finish is warm and lightly spiced, with a lingering sweetness.
