Diplomatico Single Vintage 2013 (43%)

The Diplomático Single Vintage 2013 is part of the more limited releases from Destilerías Unidas S.A., focusing on a single harvest year. Only rum distilled in 2013 is used for this bottling, resulting in a clearly defined character.

Diplomático combines different distillation methods, including copper pot stills and column stills. For the Single Vintage series, these styles are blended and aged in ex-bourbon casks, followed by an additional maturation period in sherry casks.

The nose reveals dried fruit, caramel and cocoa, with hints of oak and gentle spice. On the palate it is rich and rounded, showing notes of raisins, toffee and dark chocolate, supported by subtle oak and spice.

The finish is long and warming with lingering sweetness, wood and spice.
