Flora Antillarum Bologne 2014 Rhum Agricole is a remarkable limited edition by Velier, produced at the Bologne distillery in Guadeloupe. Part of the new Flora Antillarum series, it was distilled in 2013 and 2014, then bottled in 2022 at cask strength.
Made from fresh sugarcane juice, this seven-year-old rhum agricole shows just how complex and layered aged agricole can be. Velier specially selected and blended three casks: one virgin oak cask filled in May 2013, and two ex-Cognac casks filled in May 2014 and November 2014. The result is a beautiful balance between vibrant cane character, fruit-driven elegance and deeper oak influence.
In the glass, this bottling delivers a rich interplay of tropical fruit, floral touches, soft vanilla and spiced wood. The texture is intense yet refined, with a long finish where oak, fruit and sugarcane character merge seamlessly.
Only 1,000 bottles were released, making this a true collector’s rum — and, above all, an outstanding agricole to savour slowly.
