This 11-year-old James Eadie bottling comes from Craigellachie Distillery, a Speyside distillery known for its slightly more robust and characterful style. Maturation in Amontillado sherry casks adds a drier, nutty layer to that profile.
It opens with apple and orange, followed by toasted nuts and a gentle honeyed sweetness. A subtle spice and a faint earthy note add depth without becoming heavy.
On the palate, it shows more strength. Citrus and dried fruit combine with almond and a distinct nutty character. The structure is firmer, with a spicy edge and a lightly drying oak influence that adds grip.
The finish is long and gently drying, with lingering nuts, citrus and spice, with the cask influence clearly present yet well integrated.
