Single cask rum from Guyana’s Diamond Distillery, aged for eleven years. Dark molasses, oak, spice and a full, drier profile give this bottling a classic Demerara character with added concentration. Read more..
This Quarterdeck release from Duncan Taylor comes from Diamond Distillery in Guyana, distilled in 2010 and bottled eleven years later as a single cask. It is a rum made from Demerara molasses and drawn from the Diamond Wooden Pot Still, a still closely associated with heavier, more characterful Guyanese rum. The outturn was limited to 288 bottles, and the rum was bottled at 50.9% without chill filtration or added colour.
In the glass, it leans into a darker, more classical Guyana profile, with molasses, oak and spice taking centre stage. Eleven years of ageing give it a firmly built palate where deep sweetness, dry wood, spice and an earthy undertone sit closely together. This is not a bottling aimed at softness alone, but one that speaks clearly of origin and cask, making it especially appealing for drinkers who enjoy a more concentrated Demerara style with real single cask identity.
