Smuggler's Trail PX Cask Dutch Blended Whisky (43%)

The Smuggler’s Trail PX Cask Dutch Blended Whisky showcases Zuidam Distillers’ approach to blending entirely house-distilled components into a cohesive and characterful whisky. This Dutch blend brings together a single malt, a wheat whisky and a 5-grain whisky (rye, corn, wheat, spelt and malted barley), all distilled in traditional pot stills at Zuidam’s distillery in Baarle-Nassau.

Following its initial maturation, the whisky receives additional ageing in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, adding richness and depth. The influence of PX wood introduces layers of dried fruit sweetness that complement the underlying malt character and grain spice.

On the nose, expect raisins, dried figs and dark caramel, supported by soft vanilla and gentle spice. The palate is rounded and well-structured, revealing notes of toffee, cocoa, ripe red fruit and subtle oak, with the grain components providing backbone and balance. The finish is medium to long, lingering with dried fruit and warming spice.
