The GlenAllachie 9 Years Amontillado Sherry Cask Finish shows how a relatively young whisky can gain additional depth through a distinctive cask influence. The Amontillado casks introduce a drier, more pronounced nutty character than typically found in Speyside.

It opens with soft notes of honey and ripe apple, followed by hints of cinnamon and butterscotch. Toasted hazelnuts soon emerge, accompanied by a gentle touch of tobacco that adds complexity without becoming heavy.

On the palate, it develops into a richer and more rounded style. Honeycomb and dried apricot are joined by a cherry-like sweetness and a fresh note of orange peel. The nutty influence remains clearly present, supported by subtle spice.

The finish is medium in length and slightly drying, with lingering notes of nuts, gentle spice and soft oak fading gradually.
