The Transcontinental Rum Line – Venezuela Single Cask 2008 is a carefully selected single cask bottling that highlights the character of Venezuelan rum in a concentrated and mature style. This rum was distilled in 2008 and bottled after thirteen years of ageing, combining tropical maturation with additional ageing in Europe.
It matured for ten years in Venezuela’s tropical climate before being transferred to Europe for a further three years. The entire ageing process took place in ex-bourbon casks. This approach creates a balance between natural sweetness, oak structure and refinement. Distilled on a column still, the spirit offers clarity and definition, providing a solid foundation for extended cask maturation.
On the nose, notes of vanilla, caramel and dried fruit unfold alongside gentle toasted oak. The palate is full and structured, revealing layers of toffee, brown sugar and soft spice, complemented by hints of cocoa and ripe dark fruit. The finish is long and warming, with sweetness and oak influence remaining well integrated.
