Balvenie Double Wood 12YO - Victo Ngai Edition (40%)

The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Years is one of the signature creations of Malt Master David Stewart, built around the interaction between two different cask types. For this Victo Ngai Edition, the whisky is presented in a special artistic release featuring artwork by illustrator Victo Ngai, giving the bottling a more collectible and distinctive character.

The whisky first matures in traditional bourbon casks before spending additional time in Oloroso sherry casks. It is then transferred into large oak tuns for several months, allowing the different influences to marry together more fully.

The result is a style that begins softly before gradually developing more depth. Honey and vanilla form the base, followed by ripe fruit and gentle sherry notes. Hints of nuts and cinnamon spice emerge without becoming heavy or overly sweet.

On the palate, it remains rounded and approachable. The bourbon casks keep the whisky smooth, while the sherry wood adds warmth and richness. The balance between softness and depth remains central throughout.

The finish is long and warming, with honey, soft spice and subtle oak lingering gently.
