Speyburn is a traditional, picturesque distillery in the heart of Scotland's Speyside region, founded in 1897 by John Hopkins. It uses the soft, pure water of the nearby River Granty Burn to produce accessible, unpeated single malt whiskies with a light, fruity, and characterful flavor. The distillery is known for its traditional distillation method, using traditional worm tubs and large, classic Speyside-shaped stills.
A large wash still is used for the first distillation, followed by two smaller spirit stills, an unusual process that produces a light, flavourful spirit.
The stills have a classic Speyside shape (wide at the base, narrow neck) and are paired with traditional worm tub condensers, contributing to the whisky's body and rich character.
