Kilchoman Mezcal Matured 2026 Tour Edition

The Kilchoman Mezcal Cask Matured 2026 Tour Edition is an exclusive release created for the 2026 distillery tour. For this edition, Kilchoman Distillery explored the use of an uncommon cask type in Scotch whisky: casks that previously held mezcal.

Mezcal is known for its earthy, herbal and often smoky character. Using these casks creates an interesting interaction with Kilchoman’s Islay peat smoke, but from a very different angle. While peat smoke is typically maritime and medicinal, mezcal adds a drier, more vegetal and spicy layer.

The result is a whisky that stands apart from the core range. The nose reveals citrus, smoke and spice with subtle earthy and vegetal notes. On the palate it is bold and layered, showing lime, ashy smoke and herbal tones, with a drier and slightly more rugged profile.

The finish is long and dry with lingering spice and evolving smokiness.
