Mhoba Franky’s Pineapple Rum is a South African estate rum produced at Mhoba Sugar Estate from fresh Nkomazi sugarcane juice. This expression is a blend of a glass cask matured rum and two separately distilled pot still white rums. Each distillate was individually infused with fresh, ripe Natal Queen pineapple — both raw and seared — before final blending.
The use of multiple distillates creates a layered profile in which pineapple remains central, supported by the freshness of the pot still rums and the subtle oak influence from the glass cask component. It is a small batch, single estate production using estate-grown cane.
On the nose, fresh and juicy pineapple dominates, supported by light cane and fruit notes. The combination of raw and seared pineapple adds both bright fruit and lightly caramelised nuances.
On the palate, the natural sweetness of pineapple integrates with the rum’s structure. The glass cask element contributes a gentle wood note without overshadowing the fruit. The finish is fruity and smooth, with lingering pineapple and light cane tones.
