Mhoba Strand 101 is produced by Mhoba Rum Distillery in South Africa from estate-grown Nkomazi sugarcane juice. Rather than a single still release, this expression is a blend of a pot still high-ester rum and the Select Reserve glass cask rum.

The pot still high-ester component contributes lively, funky ester notes in both aroma and flavor. The glass cask-aged component — matured with charred American oak staves in glass demijohns — adds light caramel, vanilla and subtle smoky influence.

On the nose, expect an expressive profile with sugarcane, tropical fruit and ester richness, supported by vanilla and gentle oak background notes.

The palate blends cane freshness and fruitiness with depth from the glass cask influence: warm vanilla, soft caramel and discreet smoke appear alongside the bold ester character. The higher alcohol strength enhances the overall intensity.
