Habitation Velier Papa Rouyo 1YO 2022 is a pure Guadeloupe Pure Single Rum crafted from fresh sugarcane juice using traditional agricole methods. This rum comes from the Papa Rouyo distillery in Goyave, where carefully selected cane varieties form a vibrant and characterful base.
The spirit is distilled in a pot still, contributing to a rich and expressive aromatic and flavour profile, and then aged in French oak and ex-cognac barrels in the tropical climate of Guadeloupe. The tropical ageing accelerates the interaction between wood and cane spirit, enhancing its complexity.
On the nose, Papa Rouyo displays fresh, floral aromas with hints of ripe fruit and lively grassy notes, followed by subtle sweetness and light spice. On the palate, fruit, floral elements and gentle wood character come together in a balanced, layered profile. This rum is bottled without chill filtration and without additives, preserving the essence of its distillation and maturation.
