Renegade Rum Etudes New Bacolet (55%)

New Bacolet is one of the first matured versions of Renegade Rum. The rum is made from the sugarcane variety Lacalome Red and is known for its high sucrose content.
The sugarcane was harvested from a field called 'Goat Hill' that belongs to the 'Upper Combe' terroir of the New Bacolet farm. New Bacolet is sheltered by a forest in the south of the island. The field is located on a steep mountain slope, which made it quite a challenge to prepare the field for sugarcane cultivation.
Of the release 6,000 bottles were bottled.

TASTING NOTES:
Nose:
A luscious abundance of fruit - both fresh and dried - leaps with joy from the glass and is in complete harmony with the woodiness of the sugarcane.

Flavour
Overwhelmingly deep. Dried fruits - such as yellow and dark sultanas - meld with lively notes of sugarcane and sweet spices of French and American oak.

Finish
Long and silky, fades slowly.
