Rest & Be Thankful Monymusk 1998 MBK is a single cask Jamaican rum from the Clarendon distillery, also known as Monymusk. This release carries the MBK mark, a style within the distillery associated with relatively light fermentation and a targeted ester level of around 70–80 g/hlpa.

Distilled in 1998, the rum was matured for over 24 years. Initial ageing took place in Jamaica in an American oak cask under tropical conditions, after which the cask was transferred to Scotland for further continental maturation. This combination results in both concentration and refinement in the final profile.

Bottled in February 2023 as a single cask release, the outturn is limited to just 169 bottles and presented at cask strength. In line with the bottler’s philosophy, it is non-chill filtered and free from added colouring.

The distillery character remains clearly present, supported by fruit and spice alongside the influence of extended ageing. The combination of origin, mark and maturation makes this a distinctive and layered Jamaican rum.
