This rum was distilled in 2005 at C.A.D.C. (Corporación Alcoholes del Caribe) in Venezuela and later selected by the independent bottler Tamosi, a project created by Levy Lane focusing on distinctive single cask releases.
After distillation the rum spent twelve years ageing in Venezuela in French oak casks. It was later transported to Europe where the maturation continued in several stages. The cask spent time in England before being transferred into an ex-rum barrel and eventually matured for several additional years in Amsterdam, reaching a total age of seventeen years.
Bottled at natural cask strength, this rum delivers an intense and robust profile. The nose reveals aromas of stone fruit, treacle and marzipan, supported by chocolate, fresh oak and baking spices.
On the palate the rum is rich and powerful with flavours of caramel, milk chocolate and stewed fruit. Layers of red fruit, leather and spicy oak emerge as it develops. The finish is long with hints of bitter berries, cocoa and lingering wood spice.
A bold single cask rum showcasing both long ageing and strong oak influence.
