The Balvenie Montilla Wine Cask (47,3%)

A rare and beautifully crafted single malt, The Balvenie Montilla Wine Cask brings together the distillery’s signature honeyed style with the rich sweetness of Andalusian Montilla wine. At 47.3% ABV and non-chill filtered, it delivers fuller flavor while remaining smooth and approachable for any whisky lover.

This limited-edition whisky was aged for 12 years in European oak butts seasoned with sweet Montilla wine, giving it layers of dried fruit, candied sweetness, gentle spice, and soft oak. Hand-selected by Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie as part of the “Curious Casks” collection, it showcases Balvenie’s love of tradition and experimentation.

Originally released as a small, single-cask bottling, only a limited number of bottles exist. Each bottle comes in an illustrated tube featuring artwork by Andy Lovell, making it a great gift or collector’s item.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Fresh barley sugar, golden honey, and lightly toasted oak.
Palate: Candied sweetness, rich vanilla, dried apricots, and gentle spice.
Finish: Smooth, sweet, and softly oaked with lingering fruit.
