It starts with virgin sugar cane honey, then brings together rums of different ages through Botran’s dynamic ageing, a Solera-inspired maturation carried out in the Guatemalan highlands. For this bottling, the rum moves through casks that previously held American whiskey, medium toasted American whiskey, sherry and port. That gives it not only more depth, but also a fuller and more richly developed profile where wood, fruit and spice sit comfortably together.
In the glass, it opens on cocoa, vanilla and caramel, followed by maple syrup, riper red fruit and warm spice. On the palate, caramelised fruit, gentle spice and darker lightly toasted notes come together with ease, while the mix of casks adds extra roundness and a composed sense of layering.
