Planteray Original Dark Rum (formerly known as Plantation Original Dark ) is a rich and characterful premium rum, composed of carefully selected rums from Barbados and Jamaica . This blend combines the smooth elegance of Bajan rum with the powerful, aromatic style of Jamaican rum. After an initial maturation in the Caribbean, the rum undergoes a second maturation in France in French oak barrels, providing extra depth and complexity.
TASTING NOTES:
On the nose, seductive aromas of molasses, vanilla, caramel, and ripe banana emerge, complemented by notes of cocoa, toasted oak, orange peel, and a hint of clove.
The taste is full and round, with rich notes of brown sugar, toffee, dark chocolate, and dried fruit. The Jamaican rum adds a subtle tropical fruitiness and light funk, while aging in French oak barrels provides elegant woody notes, warm spices, and a velvety texture.
The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of vanilla, cocoa, caramel, and a refined spiciness.
