Senior & Co Tamarein Liqueur (25%)

This liqueur is produced by Senior & Co on the Caribbean island of Curaçao. The company is best known for producing the original Curaçao liqueur and has been crafting liqueurs since 1896 at the historic Landhuis Chobolobo distillery in Willemstad.

For this distinctive liqueur, the traditional laraha orange is replaced with tamarind, a tropical fruit commonly found on the island. Tamarind grows in pod-shaped fruits containing a flavorful pulp known for its characteristic sweet and tangy taste. The inspiration for this liqueur comes from a local Curaçao drink called Warapa, made from tamarind juice.

The liqueur is crafted using real tamarind pulp combined with alcohol, sugar and spices before being distilled in copper stills. This traditional approach helps create a balanced and aromatic result.

The aroma reveals notes of ripe tamarind, brown sugar and gentle spice. On the palate it shows a lively balance between sweetness and tangy fruit acidity with hints of caramel, citrus and tropical fruit. The finish is smooth and refreshing.

A distinctive Caribbean liqueur that works beautifully in cocktails, especially with ginger ale, soda or rum, but can also be enjoyed neat or over ice.
