The 7th release of Scallywag The Chocolate Edition is a deliciously flavorful fusion of the distinctive Speyside character combined with the luxurious influence of the finest port casks.

The spirit started life as a classic expression of Speyside Malt Whisky, first aged for more than 12 years in ex-bourbon casks before re-aging in American oak casks that previously contained mature Foursquare rums.

A terrific blended grain whisky (the first of its type when released in 2000) from tireless innovators Compass Box. Supple & silky, with elegant, rich flavours of vanilla, toffee, coconut and cocoa.

Experimental is made with a combination of bourbon barrels and recharred casks, including an all-malt peated grain whisky from Loch Lomond that was distilled in a copper Coffey still.

Hints of leather, polished furniture and the crackling dustiness of decades-old pages on the nose. The palate is stacked with sumptuous malty notes, tropical fruit and Sherry character, with a delicate but persistent peatiness.

You don't often come across a single grain whisky made of 100% malted barley! The whisky has a nice round mouthfeel. Red apple and lime. Vanilla fudge and cane sugar.
