Naga Anggur Edition shows a different side of Indonesian rum. This bottling starts with Naga Java Reserve and is then finished in French oak wine casks from Château Pas de l’Ane, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2018. That final stage gives the rum a distinctive signature: not heavy, but deeper in colour, more detailed in character and clearly marked by notes of red fruit, seasoned wood and soft tannin.
In the glass, rum and wine are woven together with real finesse. The warmer side of the rum appears first, with candied fruit, gentle spice and a rounded softness, before the wine cask adds another layer through red and black fruit, a lightly woody accent and a delicate dryness that gives the profile more shape. That interplay is what makes this release so individual: the rum keeps its supple foundation, while the Saint-Émilion finish brings extra refinement, more nuance and a slightly gastronomic edge that sets it apart from a more classic cask-aged style.
