Daniele Biondi: Key figure in the international rum world

Daniele Biondi is an influential figure in the international rum world and works as export manager for La Maison & Velier, one of the leading players in premium and authentic rum.
Biondi started as a bartender in Milan, where he developed a strong passion for rum early on. He founded one of the first rum platforms and communities in Europe, Rum Club Italiano. Through his international work promoting Authentic Caribbean Rum, he traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean and gained broad knowledge there.

Biondi has been active at Velier since 2010. He played a key role in the discovery of Clairin from Haiti and contributed to the development of brands such as Hampden and Habitation Velier. After the founding of La Maison & Velier, a joint venture with La Maison du Whisky, he helped build global distribution in dozens of countries. Additionally, he is known as an educator and speaker, giving masterclasses and tastings worldwide.
Daniele Biondi is regarded as a true “rum geek” with a strong focus on authenticity and transparency. He possesses extensive knowledge of production processes such as fermentation, esters, and terroir. Biondi is an advocate for traditional and pure rum styles and has helped popularize modern trends such as high-ester rum and pure, unsweetened bottlings.
