Patridom 12YO Islay Cask (42%)

Smoke is not a common element in rum from the Dominican Republic, which makes this 12-year-old release from Patridom stand out. The influence of ex-Islay casks gives the rum a different direction while keeping its core intact.

After 12 years of tropical ageing in oak casks, the rum was finished in casks that previously held Islay whisky. This additional step introduces a subtle layer of smoke without overpowering the original profile.

On the nose, soft vanilla and oak combine with a gentle smokiness. The palate remains balanced, where fruit and mild sweetness meet oak, spice and a light smoky note. The finish is slightly dry, with lingering wood and soft smoke.
