Glen Moray Elgin Classic Port Cask Finish combines red fruit, plum, honey and caramel with gentle spice, smooth and slightly sweet with a rounded, mildly dry finish.
The whisky is matured primarily in Oloroso sherry casks, resulting in an intense, dark sherry profile with notes of dried fruit, chocolate, and warm spices. The name Caledonia refers to the ancient Roman word for Scotland.
The aroma is an explosion of classic Demerara with a beautiful blend of brown sugar and molasses. Notes of leather, tobacco, dried raisins, nutmeg, cloves and cassia. The aroma finishes with soft oak, caramel and rich English toffee.
The new distillate is distilled three times in a small pot still. Then the distillate is partially distilled a fourth time with carefully selected herbs such as juniper berry, licorice root and aniseed.
