Rhum JM Vintage 2013 (43.8%)

Rhum JM Vintage 2013 is a millésime rhum agricole from the Fonds-Préville Distillery in Macouba, in the north of Martinique. The distillery is situated at the foot of the Montagne Pelée, right amidst its own sugarcane fields. Rhum JM produces its agricole based on fresh sugarcane juice and distills using traditional column stills.
This vintage was distilled in 2013 and aged tropically for years on Martinique. In JM's millésime bottlings, the angel's share is supplemented with rum from the same vintage during aging, preserving the character of the vintage.
The long aging gives this Agricole a beautiful combination of ripe fruit, warm spices, and distinct wood notes. Vanilla and candied fruit are complemented by dried fruit, roasted nuances, and a spicy touch. The fresh, vegetal character of the sugarcane remains subtly present underneath. The finish is long and warming, with oak, spices, and a gentle sweetness.
