Don Papa Gayuma (40%)

With Gayuma, Don Papa takes a slightly different direction, placing more emphasis on cask influence than usual. This release is built around a layered maturation process, where different types of casks are used sequentially, each adding its own character.

The rum is first aged in American oak ex-bourbon casks, followed by a period in Rioja wine casks, and finished in casks that previously held Islay whisky. The final stage introduces a subtle smoky element that sets this bottling apart within the range.

In the glass, this results in a balance between sweetness and depth. Vanilla and cocoa form the core, supported by light citrus and gentle spice, while the Islay cask influence adds a soft smoky and slightly earthy note without overwhelming the profile.
